As I mentioned in my Friday Reads video, I wandered across Locke & Key in a comic book store when Tracie and I were in Cleveland over Winter Break. I wanted it, saw that our local library had it, and purchased Lumberjanes instead. Turned out that our library only had the collected volumes 2 through 6 (who does that?), so I purchased the first and away I went, finishing the first four volumes in two days. I decided, since I was reading them so quickly, to write one sticky note review for the entire series. Here it is.

#bookaday Locke & Key (series) by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. Stunning art and a story that is engaging and balances forward motion with origin story. I felt for the characters and teared up at the end, even, at the memorial services. Creepy elements had me adequately creeped out, which is a testament to the artistic abilities of Gabriel Rodriguez.
