Happy New Year, readers. I’m sitting at the allergist, so I thought I’d hop on and do a quick IMWAYR, hosted by Unleashing Readers and Teach Mentor Texts.
I’ve talked about how T and I listen to stories together, and we’re still listening to TJ Klune’s adult offerings.
My first read of the year was The Marvelous by Claire Kann, a fun who’s going to win the money kind of story reminiscent of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
This morning, I listened to the new Jason Reynolds and Jason Griffin piece: Ain’t Burned All the Bright courtesy of Simon & Schuster Audio and Libro.fm’s ALC program. I did preorder a physical copy because I love Reynolds’ work, so I can call this one finished until I get to see the visuals. Book comes out on January 11 – I should add it to my Top Ten Tuesday for tomorrow, which is anticipated releases. If you haven’t had the pleasure of listening to Reynolds read his work, I highly recommend it.
On my commute home from work today, I listened to the first hour of We Are Not Broken by George M. Johnson, one of the books I listed on my Winter TBR.
Look at me, actually reading books off my list and not getting distracted by other new shiny books.
That’s what’s happening over here this week. What are you reading this week?
