Sometimes I look at the graph of how many books I’ve read each month this year and think about how I’m not reading as much as I used to.

This is a true statement, but I’m also not reading anything I don’t enjoy. I recently realized that it usually takes me trying two or three books before I actually settle down with one.

How many books I read a month used to be a point of pride, so it’s hard not to draw comparisons between what my reading life used to be and what my reading life currently is.
