Last week and this week, I’ve been engaging in what I call stabbity stabbity, and what the people at the clinic call allergy testing. Because I have tattoos on both of my shoulders, they have to poke me in the back. As a result, I’m spending the morning looking like this:

As I headed in to get the next row of tests, this lady walks past me and says, “Oh wait. She’s got her shirt on backwards.”
Yes. Yes, I do.
“It could be a new fashion trend,” she says.
“It could be the return of an old fashion trend,” I say. “Kris Kross in the 90s.”
If anything, the nice thing about this process — it runs 2-3 hours — is it’s given me the opportunity to catch up on my book reviews. So this week you’ll get reviews on Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender and The Everything I Have Lost by Sylvia Zéleny.
This week I’m reading Unleashed by Carolyn O’Doherty. It’s a science fiction police thriller, from what I understand. It departs a little from what I typically read during the summer, but I’m here for something different.
