May 2020 Wrap Up

The Other Half of Happy by Rebecca Belcárcel — a middle grade novel about a girl trying to sort out her ethnic/national identity.

The City We Became by N. K. Jemisin — an adult science fiction novel that reads as a love letter to New York City. It was so engaging.

Front Desk by Kelly Yang — another middle grade novel that tackles so many issues around racism and classism in the United States.
