In January, I started learning to hand letter. It’s the end of April, and I think I’m getting the hang of it. The John Green quote, is done in the style I’m working on perfecting. I feel like it lives somewhere between modern calligraphy and tagging. And I like it that way. This quote is taken from this Vlogbrothers video, wherein at one point John muses about the phrase “in the meantime.” It is an interesting phrase, and the more I think about it, the more I’m not sure what it means or if I can explain it to anyone. This is similar to how I feel about my current life experience – I don’t know what it all means and I definitely can’t explain how I feel about it. Or how I’m handling it.

This first quote, from Perks of Being a Wallflower is something I try to remind myself when I feel like I’m overwhelmed by work and by trying to separate work life from home life (which I’d just really gotten the hang of) when work life has taken up residence in my living room. When I was in college, I thought 9/11 was the biggest tragedy I’d experience in my life. I may have been wrong.
