2018 at this time I was reading Children of Blood and Bone and loving it. Something about the social commentary veiled in Nigerian magic, I found incredibly appealing. Naturally, I asked my mother-in-law, who typically buys me a book for Christmas, to get me this one.

tl;dr I was not disappointed.
