Children of Virtue and Vengeance | Sticky Note Reviews

2018 at this time I was reading Children of Blood and Bone and loving it. Something about the social commentary veiled in Nigerian magic, I found incredibly appealing. Naturally, I asked my mother-in-law, who typically buys me a book for Christmas, to get me this one.

tl;dr I was not disappointed.

#bookaday Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi #SNRtbs My first reaction, when I finished Children of Virtue and Vengeance was "WT entire F." I mean, I thought they had everything sorted-a nice resolution (I was also thinking about how I thought there was a third installment) and then [spoiler & some choice words redacted]. Stellar review, I know. Let's put it this way: imagine my Bitmoji over there running around with screaming muppet arms and you'll have an accurate picture of my thoughts on this book. I love how complicated the relationships between Zélie, Inan, Tzain, and Amari are. I’m still trying to figure Roen out- I'm not sure I trust him at all. I didn't reread Children of Blood and Bone before starting this one and only had to look up a few things (said in case you're waiting to start because reread). #stickynotereviews
