One of my New Year’s reading resolutions is to read more picture books. I’ve been hunting for high quality multicultural picture books as well as picture books about adoption. So I consulted my friend, who is an adoptive parent, and I’ve spent some time on Colours of Us, which has a ton of multicultural picture book lists. Then I went to the library and picked up a bunch. Here’s what I got (length: 0:48).

Who knew Sipke Lee had a a picture book. Next time I go to work, I’m going to have to see if we have it and if not order it. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely. And if you can think of any picture books I should pick up, let me know. Really trying to build at least a list if not a collection as well.

Absolutely. Next time I go to work I’ll get with our kids lead and ask her if she has any suggestions.

Martellus Bennett has two picture books published. He has his own company called The Imagination Agency. He wrote his first book after shopping for books for his daughter and not seeing any characters that looked like her. I think he also wrote a comic book too.
