Finding Yvonne | Sticky Note Reviews

Hello Readers!

Today’s Sticky Note Review is for Finding Yvonne by Brandy Colbert. I picked it up because I loved Little & Lion so much. Finding Yvonne is exactly what the title says – about a teenage girl trying to find herself and her passion – with a couple of road bumps along the way. It was a quick read.

#bookaday Finding Yvonne by Brandy Colbert. #SNRtbs After Little & Lion, I was anxiously awaiting Colbert’s next offering, and I enjoyed novel. It was easy to connect with Yvonne’s struggle to figure out what comes next, especially after coming to the conclusion that what she thought she was going to do is not the thing she really has a passion for. I appreciated the sex positivity (hooray for no shaming!) and the fact that everything isn’t tied up neatly at the end. I could have done without the love triangle (I almost always say this, honestly). Also, I wanted more from the secondary characters, too, but that’s sometimes the limitation of a first person narrator. If you're a fan of the slice-of-life type novel about a teenager trying to figure out what she's going to do with her life, Finding Yvonne's for you.
