Do You YouTube? | Book Blogger Hop

I usually do these on Saturdays, but I was distracted by the weeds in my backyard. So I’m jumping in on Book Blogger Hop (hosted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer). This week, the question was submitted by Billy.

Do you have a YouTube channel? If so, do you post book review vlogs?

I do have a YouTube channel. I’ve had it for quite some time, actually. It started as a way to engage my students with books. I got tired of giving the same book talk four times in a class period. This one is probably my most popular, which really surprises me. It’s from 7 years ago.

And then I started doing book recommendation videos for them.

And then I was convinced by my principal at the time to write create a music video for them. Le sigh. The things I did for my students.

Every now and again I do book reviews, but not as often as I’d like. Most of the time, they just end up on Instagram.

Mostly, I talk about what I’mgoing to read for the week, or what I’m challenging myself to read in a particular month. Like this one.

Do you booktube? If you do, drop me a link in the comments and I’ll check yours out.

  1. I wish I did, but to be honest…booktube kind of scares me. The thought of recording myself is somewhat terrifying, lol. I think it’s really cool that you started out with videos for your students.

    • The thought of recording myself was terrifying at first, too. It was just me and my camera in my home library, and I’d sweat up a storm. At this point, I just turn my phone on and go. It gets easier. I’ve mostly moved from YouTube videos to Instagram videos (and cross posting). I figure I can handle 60 seconds in my crazy busy life.

  2. I used to havea YouTube channel, but I mostly posted random videos and music. I didn’t do booktube, though I’ve considered it recently. I probably won’t just because of my weirdness with posting photos of myself. I always enjoy your videos! 🙂
