In honor of Independence Day in the United States, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is red, white, and blue book covers. I decided to do spines instead, and here’s what I came up with. Can you spot the theme that ties all these books together? Bonus points if you do.
Lovely books. I’m not sure about the theme, but I’m sensing some philosophical undertones – maybe something about death/loss?

Hmm. Interesting. Now I’m going to have to look at my titles again. While that’s not what I was going for, I’m sure a case can be made for it (can you tell I’m an English teacher?).

Thanks! I’m terrible at bookstagram pictures – I just use poster board, so I thought this might make it a little more interesting.

Love the photo you took for this week’s topic. I recently won This Side of Home and am really looking forward to reading it. Great picks!

I got it in a Quarterly Box one month, right before Piecing Me Together came out. I loved it so much. Happy reading!

Great picture! And there looks like some good books in that stack, I still haven’t read Akata Witch.

I love how you arranged your books for that photo. So clever. Unfortunately, I haven’t read enough of them to be able to make even an educated guess at the theme. Could it be that they’re all written by authors who aren’t native to the United States?
