There was no doubt that I was going to pick up Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli. Loved Simon. Loved Upside. So naturally…
Also, I’m totally a grown up version of Abby Suso minus the charisma (and plus intimidation, apparently). After this, I totally want a book from her perspective. I actually feel bad because I’m less interested in Nick than I am with all of the other characters. I wonder why that is. The Upside of Unrequited is still my favorite, but mostly because I want to be friends with Nadine. Leah on the Offbeat definitely didn’t disappoint.

#bookaday Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli #SNRtbs There's something about Becky Albertalli's books that make me want to go back and reread. I love the world she's built. Admittedly, Leah drove me crazy at certain points, but it was only because she was so realistically a teenager. I was rooting for her shoe choice well before she came to it herself. And I found myself stuck in a will they/won't they situation the entire novel. I seriously wasn't sure. (For the record, I like when I'm not sure.) This is one I'll definitely come back to again.
