I remember when I read Hold Still. It was forever ago. I remember loving it.
I got Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour in one of my Quarterly boxes. I remember thinking, “I should read this, I liked Hold Still.” I then proceeded to allow it to sit on my TBR shelf for two years.
That’s a long time. And I don’t know what I was thinking.
Once I picked this up, though, I didn’t want to put it back down again (so much that I checked an ebook copy out from the library so I could travel with it).
Synopsis (from Amazon):
After being entrusted with her brother’s Los Angeles apartment for the summer as a graduation gift, Emi Price isn’t sure how to fulfill his one condition: that something great take place there while he’s gone. #bookaday Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour. #SRNtbs I’ve had Everything Leads to You on my TBR since June of 2015. Honestly, I have no idea what I was waiting for. Probably the confidence to admit that I like rom com type stories. I LOVED Everything Leads to You. There was enough tension that I wasn’t sure how it was going to end, though I knew exactly how I WANTED it to end. It’s one more example of the importance of imagining people complexly – not as people on pedestals. Can I also just take a second to mention how great having an established queer character is. I liked that it wasn't a coming out story for either character, though it did mention (and figure into characterization) how the experiences were different.
