There Is Such a Thing as too many Books

This is where I am right now. Usually I’m good at managing the books I’m reading. And I can definitely handle multiple books at a time, but it’s gotten out of hand. I think I have five or six going at this point – things I’ve been putting off, things added because my cousin needs help writing his paper, things I’m listening to with T at night and want to remember so I’m reading ahead of the audiobook. And then some things I wanted to read or listen to to begin with.

I feel stuck when I haven’t finished anything in a few days, and it’s been a week. It’s hard to know what to focus on.

Can anyone relate? How do you manage your currently reading and what makes you feel stuck as a reader?

  1. Yea, totally know what you mean. Sometimes I usually read about 2 or 3 books at once, but when I have more than that on the go at I time, it’s usually because none of the books are compelling, which makes me feel stuck because I want to complete them but don’t feel motivated to do. I solve it by forcing myself to focus on just one book at a time and don’t start new ones until all the duds are done.

  2. I’m the same right now – I think I have 5 books on the go? I need to finish a few of them soon because there are other ones I’d love to move onto and I’m just moving at a snail’s pace. lol. I do love reading more books at a time, but usually I stick to 3 books which is a little more manageable. I suggest focusing on them one at a time and knocking them off!
