So I’m not doing full length videos right now because we’re in the process of moving, but I filmed this one in the time it took my computer to reboot, so there we are.
This week, the lovely readers over at The Broke and the Bookish who host the Top Ten Tuesday set us to create lists of books around the theme of back to school. As we went back to school last week and making book recommendations is a thing I do, I decided to share with you the top ten books I recommend to my students.
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
Gabi: A Girl in Pieces by Isabel Quintero
Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina
Crackback by John Coy
The Crossover by Kwame Alexander
Unwind by Neal Shusterman
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Scars by Cheryl Rainfield
Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman
Tears of a Tiger by Sharon Draper
What’s on your list? Leave it in the comments and I’ll go check yours out.
I’ve been meaning to read Unwind forever! It’s been a while since I’ve read a Sharon Draper book, but I really liked several of them. Great list!

Thanks for stopping by. Tears of a Tiger is definitely an old standby. No one has given it back to me and said they didn’t like it.

If I Stay was such a good book, I can see why it’s on your list of recommendations! Unwind has been on my TBR for what feels like ages…I’ll definitely check some of the books on your list out! 🙂

What’s great was I happened to use it as an example for something, since one of my students is on the 3rd book in the series, and immediately two of my other students said they wanted to read it. I think it might go viral in that class, which is awesome.
