I picked up Loving vs Virginia on a whim from the library. Being in an interracial relationship makes the story of their civil rights case all the more personal for me. I was excited that T and I got to see the film; I didn’t think it would come to our small-ish town. (To be fair, it came to the one small indie theatre in town, not the big movie theatre.) Leave thoughts in the comments, and I’ll leave you with my review.
Swipe for #stickynotereviews for Loving vs Virginia. The #book review says: this story is one that is important to me, for obvious reasons. I think this is going to be more of a reaction Sticky. Sometimes I read history and I become so angry because people were so short sighted. And then I think about the present and feel the same way. But remembering the story of the Lovings and their fight just makes me super charged to of the work I'm doing in my community. Also, I was surprised there wasn't more primary source images and such, but I loved the narrative voices.
