I finished this in a few days, and now I need more M. R. Carey in my life. Watch the video below for synopsis and Sticky Note Review, or scroll all the way down for just the Sticky Note Review.

#bookaday The Girl With All the Gifts. #stickynotereviews First, let me say this: zombie stories are not my thing. Second, let me say that this isn't really a story about zombies. It's a story about a group of people, some of whom are trying to save humanity, and others of whom may be the next incarnation of humanity if the first are unsuccessful. Also, it's fantastic. I mean, the plot isn't that much different from other zombie stories, but Carey makes you care about this family – as it is – of people trying to survive. The 3rd person omniscient narrator helps with that, alternating through the heads of the five characters. In some ways, I saw this as Matilda by Roald Dahl meets post-apocalyptic zombie world. Maybe I should listen to my wife more often.
