Top Ten Reads of 2017 So Far

Hello again, readers. It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday in 60 seconds or less (today it’s 46 seconds). For those of you who don’t know, Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by the lovely readers over at The Broke and the Bookish, so if you like this one, check out their post for more. Without further ado, here’s my list.

My favorite new release that I’ve read this year is A List of Cages by Robin Roe. It’s the first book I’ve ever read where I saw myself properly represented.

In my curiosity, I went and looked up A List of Cages, and immediately added it to my TBR. My wife has ADHD, and so do many of my students. I can’t help but wonder if that’s a book they can identify with.

I identified with it. I would read it over Percy Jackson.

Great picks for this week. The only ones I’ve read of these are The Hate U Give and History Is All You Left Me which I absolutely loved as well! History Is All You Left Me was such an emotional read but it cemented Adam Silvera on my favourite authors list. Also I can’t wait to start The Upside of Unrequited, hopefully I’ll love it as much as you did but if the positive reviews I’ve seen so far are anything to go by I know I will! 😀

I think, too, if you liked Simon, The Upside of Unrequited has the same kind of feel to it. Adam Silvera is definitely also one of my favorites. I can’t wait to read his next book, They Both Die at the End. I don’t know how he publishes two books in a year while spending what seems like a ridiculous amount of time on Instagram.

They Both Die at the End is a highly anticipated release for me, and yeah I’m not sure either but I’m definitely grateful he manages it! 🙂

I have to admit I haven’t read any of these books but The Hate U Give and History Is All You Left Me are on my wishlist. I really hope I can get to them soon.

Gahhhh I always end up binge-adding to my TBR on Goodreads after watching your videos, hahaha. Rewatching now so I can write them down. Great list, as always! 😀

I love the format of this video! That’s a great way to participate. I haven’t read any of these books, but I’m interested in This Side of Home now.

I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without picking up Adam Silvera. I actually have More Happy Than Not on hold at the library which I need to pick up. Hope the second half of 2017 is filled with just as many awesome books!

I am absolutely checking out Renee Watson’s other book on your Top 10 list, especially after how much I adored Piecing Me Together! I own a copy of History is All You’ve Left Me, and it’s sitting on my bookshelf, staring at me…I know I’ll get to it sooner rather than later, but maybe sooner will come faster than I thought after your endorsement. Excellent list overall! 😀
