Yesterday was a little nuts so I decided to do my Top Ten Tuesday today.
Top 10 Tuesday is a feature hosted by the lovely readers over at The Broke and the Bookish. This weeks topic is a Mother’s Day related freebie so I did top 10 books I think my mom should read this summer. (EDIT: There are only nine. Apparently I didn’t count correctly.)
- My Name is Leon by Kit De Waal
- Listen Slowly by Thanhha Lai
- Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate
- Pax by Sara Pennypacker
- Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan
- El Deafo by Cece Bell
- Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson
- Booked by Kwame Alexander
- The Crossover by Kwame Alexander
What’s on your Top Ten Mother’s Day Freebie list? Leave your link in the comments and I’ll check it out!
I really loved your take on this week’s theme. It’s one I definitely haven’t seen and a nice way to celebrate Mother’s Day as well! 😀 These all sound like amazing books so I really hope your mum enjoys them, if she checks them out from the library or even ends up buying them.
Again great picks for this week! 🙂

She replied to the video (I sent her a link) and said she’s probably going to pick up Brown Girl Dreaming because one of her colleagues is reading it. Last time I wanted her to read something her students might like, I had to get one of my students to write her a letter.

Oh that’s great to hear, well maybe if she enjoys Brown Girl Dreaming she’ll check out the rest of the books you recommended. 😀

Oooh elementary school recs! Those are always fun to see. And I might have to look these up to recommend to some of my coworkers haha.

Ah, I have a copy of Pax as well but have yet to read it (mainly because full disclosure: I will probably cry because critter feels hurt me so). I also like how so many of these are illustrated covers!

Honestly, I haven’t read it either, but it’s something I think will be up her alley since she liked The One and Only Ivan. Thanks for stopping by!
