American Street by Ibi Zoboi is one I’d been waiting for since late last year. I put it on hold at the library, checked it out, then bought my own copy before I even started reading it.
Going back and forth between the print book and the audiobook is a thing I’m really into now. If you’ve listened to the audio, I’m curious about your thoughts on this question.

So…what to say? This was another I had to let sit for a minute after finishing because WOW. I was so interested in the characters and how this seemingly-naïve Haitian girl was navigating the US that I forgot about the plot. So when it picked up, it smacked me in the face and I didn't want to put the book down. American Street is timely in so many ways – immigration, law enforcement, inner city life. And the story may not go where you think it's going to. @ms.freckles36, this is my next rec for you.
