Rearranging Shelves

It’s Book Blogger Hop time, hosted by Billy over at Coffee Addicted Writer. This week’s question comes from Elizabeth at Silver’s Reviews.

Do you rearrange and move books around on the shelves or move books off of your bookshelves to another area after a certain amount of time, or do you just leave them the way they are?

You know, my bookshelves used to be organized by color and then alphabetized within each color. When my partner and I got together, she rearranged my shelves so they’re just alphabetical again. I have one bookshelf in the garage that is still color coded, and I use it when I make some of my YouTube videos. It makes me happy.

At this point, our shelves stay as they are, shifting only when we buy books, or when I decide that I’m going to cull some of our books (and take them to my classroom). I have a TBR shelf at the bottom of my bookshelf that changes every time I go to the library.

What state are your shelves in?

The only shelf that is even remotely organized is the bottom shelf of the living room bookcase, it’s where all my Harry Potter/Wizarding World books are. The bookcase in my room, all my classics are on one shelf with other books but other than that they really aren’t too organized.

Easily. There are only two bookcases in the house with three shelves each.

A mess is more like it for me. But I arrange my books in age. Like I’ll place my childhood favorites on one and my YA favorites on the other, and Fantasy in another.
