New Shoes! | Monday Musings

Happy Monday, internet. I’m not a huge fan of shopping, but this weekend, after deciding not to see The Circle, T and I went shopping. This is a thing that doesn’t happen often, but I bought new shoes. Vans, to be precise.

This wouldn’t be significant, and isn’t in the grand scheme of things, but for nostalgia. I remember being in high school marching band and having at least two members of my line wearing Vans. I always thought they were really cool, but that I couldn’t pull them off. So I was a Samba wearing marcher instead. And I wore Sambas for years.

To be honest, had the shoe store we patronized had Sambas, I may have purchased those over the Vans. But I am pleased. I prefer dark-soled shoes, and these are black with black soles.

I don’t have an adequate enough vocabulary to express just how awesome my weekend was.

How was your weekend? Do anything interesting? Read anything good?

I didn’t really do anything interesting, I was able to finally sit outside and read a book this weekend. The weather where I live has been very flip floppy lately.

The weather where I live has been rather flip floppy as well. Sitting outside and reading sounds like a fantastic weekend activity.

Saturday it was nice and sunny and around 80 degrees, yesterday and today it’s 50 and cloudy/rainy.

I’m not much of a shopper either. I pretty much do it when I HAVE to have new clothes. Like recently I gained weight. Bummer but I needed pants. Its just not my favorite activity.

Yeah. Shopping typically brings up body image issues for me. Thankfully, my wife brings me home new shirts every once in a while.
