I picked up Milk and Honey for my book club’s April discussion. Usually, I’d wait for the library copy to come in, but I happened to see it on an end cap at Target, and picked it up. It’s been what seems like forever since I read poetry. I’m glad this one was requested by one of my book club buddies.
Here’s my sticky note review (let’s hope the swipe works in the embed. If it doesn’t, here’s the link).

#bookaday milk and honey by rupi kaur. The thing about reviewing collections of poetry is deciding how exactly to approach commentary. For me, poetry, as with most artistic endeavors, is emotional expression. How do I critique that? I loved how wrecked I felt at the end of some poems. I am always in awe of a writer who can elicit such strong emotion in the reader. I'm also sure I'm going to come back and meditate on some of these poems later. Definitely worth a read. #bookstagram #bookreview #poetry #instabook #milkandhoney #stickynotereviews #snrtbs #blackbookblogger
