I’m really trying to get better about doing these; so far, two for two. In the video below, I talk about what I read in February and what I plan to read in March. Below is what I’ve read to date.

The only book that I’ve read on this list is Kindred and that was ages ago. Lots of ones I haven’t heard of and really want to add to my TBR! Enjoy March!!

Happy March! I’m going to have to read Drum Dream Girl. I bet my library has it. With Allegedly, maybe make sure you know the Trigger Warnings going in but it’s definitely an interesting story. THUG…. I finished it around 3am. Enough said. I know I’m not helping. So, so good. 200% lives up to the hype. Angie Thomas is brilliant.

Thanks for the heads up about trigger warnings. I’ll definitely find out before I get started. I did read your review, and I have a little bit of push back regarding the intersection of black womanhood and mental illness, but I’ll read the book first before I give voice to that.

Of course. I think a lot of the trouble for me was going into it not knowing ahead of time. I definitely look forward to reading your review of it.

I’ve heard some amazing things about Margarita Engle, but have never picked up anything by her. I’ve never tried picking up children’s books in order to get out of a slump, but I may have to do this. I’m going to have to read Milk and Honey as everyone who has picked it up simply raves about it. I’d love to read some poetry this year, so this one sounds like a good place to start. Hope you enjoy your March!

You know, the children’s book choice came from wanting to read something short while my student teacher was teaching, and I have access to digital collections at the library, so… I’d love to hear whether or not it works for you. Happy reading!
