I downloaded The Living last year via Audiobooksync’s summer audiobook program, but never got to it. For whatever reason, I thought that it had something to do with aliens (which makes no sense given what de la Peña writes about – who knows what I was thinking), and that made me push it down on my list.
But I checked it out from the library over winter holiday and finally got around to it this week. So good. de la Peña writes characters I root for, and the characters in The Living are no different.
