Tracie and I both went hunting for more Okorafor when we finished Akata Witch this past winter. It took me two tries to start this one, but once I was in the story, I didn’t want to put it down. For people who like science fiction who want to diversify their reading, this is GOOD SCIENCE FICTION, I don’t care who the author is (I do care, actually, but you know what I mean).
#bookaday Who Fears Death by Nnedi Okorafor. Supernatural story that does the things I want my science fiction to do – challenge equity/power on all fronts – from race-related to gender roles. Okorafor newly added to my list of favorite authors. Can’t wait for The Book of Phoenix in May. #stickynotereviews
Read this one? What did you think?
