I read both of these last week and enjoyed one more than the other. Cress I read because I’m making a concerted effort to read books that I have purchased before reading books from anywhere else. Insurgent was a reread (or listen to, rather) with my carpool. Let’s say I’m more excited to pick up Fairest and Winter than I am Allegiant (though I will probably get the audio for this one from the library this weekend).
#bookaday #stickynotereviews So tag line for this book is "One choice can destroy you" and my answer is this: Yes, it can, especially if consequences aren't considered. Tris drives me a little nuts. It's nice to find out about how the story came about but I could have done without all the self-sacrificing followed by whining. That's just me.
#bookaday #stickynotereviews was Cinder and the Cinderella story. Then we added Red Riding Hood w/ Scarlet. Now we add Rapunzel with Cress. War, love stories, war, women who aren't whiny and take control of their own stories and war and getting lost in the desert and betrayal and a better balance of power between the male and female characters and awesomeness. As it should be.
