Two challenges this month. The Book Photo Challenge by Books & Cupcakes, and the Reflective Teaching Blogging Challenge fromTeachThought. While they’re not related to each other, I thought I’d take care of both at the same time, in one post. Just for fun. You can see all of the photos I’ve taken for the book photo challenge (and other things) in my Photo Gallery.
September Book Photo Challenge Day 3: Latest Purchase
The Legend of Drizzit, Maisie Dobbs, Qualitative Research Design (which we saw yesterday too because I’m currently reading it) and Seraphina.
Reflective Teaching Day 3: An “observation” area on which to improve
Honestly, I want to get better at communicating with parents. I’m terrible at it. One of the teachers I observed a few semesters before I did my student teaching used to send home notes to the parents of five students each week. These notes were positive and outlined what the student did well. They were always given directly to the student who, of course, opened it before it got home. This did wonders for her classroom “management” and the learning environment they co-created.
This is something I’d like to add to my repertoire, and it isn’t hard, it’s just a matter of carving out time to do it.
