Blue’s convinced herself that she’s never going to fall in love. But this isn’t because she’s been slighted by some other teenager, it’s because she’s grown up with the knowledge that she will kill her true love with a kiss. Richard Gansey III is looking for a long lost king, buried on an ancient source of power. Blue will join his motley crew in search of this king. But will they find him before someone else does? And what is Blue’s aunt doing in town anyway?
One of the things I love about the characters in The Raven Boys is how they all have different motivations for doing the things they do. Each character is complex – no one acts just as filler. I am, however, incredibly confused about the ending. Ronan says he’s keeping Chainsaw out of his dreams? What does that mean? Does he have some kind of power that we don’t know about already? When I started listening to the book it reminded me of Beautiful Creatures and I was a little off-put by that. But the more I listened, the more I was drawn into this world and captivated by Blue and the Raven Boys.
