Of the books I read in 2012, I think I was jump-up-and-down excited to recommend this one more than any other. It’s your typical hero journey, but filled with 80s pop culture, and references to video games that were popular when I was a child, it was a thrilling adventure that kept me swiping through the pages.

Ready Player One is set in the future, a future where for many people the Oasis–an online world–is more real than the real world. I suppose that makes sense… it’s called the Oasis, and the real world that Wade, the protagonist, lives in is one of stacked trailers and little food. Check out the trailer below.
