When you Google “Necromancing the Stone,” the majority of the hits are related to an episode of a show called Charmed, that was popular on the WB (which is now the CW) when I was in college. But this is not about that episode of Charmed. This is about the sequel to Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, which is, according to Sherman Alexie, the funniest scary book he’s ever read.
My friend Donalyn recieved an advanced reviewer copy of Necromancing the Stone (aside: every time I see this title, I can’t help but think about the 1984 movie Romancing the Stone), which proves once and for all that the sequel is not a rumor. Here’s what she had to say.
Necromancing the Stone is due out on September 18, 2012. I think this novel will be my birthday present to myself this year. If you haven’t read Hold Me Closer, Necromancer yet, get to it before September ends.
Did you catch the Green Day reference? I thought it was funny. Anyway, happy reading, and don’t forget to be awesome.
