Conor is 13. And he’s been having nightmares. But the nightmare that shows up at Conor’s window is not the nightmare that he’s been expecting. This nightmare is entirely different. This nightmare tells him three stories in return for one story. The story that Conor is avoiding. The story that Conor swears he’ll never tell anyone. But Conor called the monster, and the monster will have the truth.

A Monster Calls is another beautifully written story by Patrick Ness. I was in awe of him after the Chaos Walking Trilogy and A Monster Calls didn’t disappoint. This is one I couldn’t read during class because it made me cry.
