I picked up the fourth installment in this series because it wasn’t a bad world to go back into, and I was in the mood for a fantasy. It’s a good addition to the original trilogy, answering the “what happened to the characters after they won the Mortal War?” question.

City of Fallen Angels is a continuation of the Mortal Instruments series. The Mortal War is over, and Clary and Co. are back in New York. Luke and Clary’s mom are finally getting married. Clary and Jace seem to be growing apart, Simon’s juggling two girls, avoiding coming out of the coffin to his mother, and considering a proposition from one of the oldest ever vampires.
When Clary wished for Jace to be brought back from the dead, she upset the natural order of things. Now, a new villain is determined to rectify that balance.
