Book Preview: Cinder

CinderYou think you know the story of Cinderella? This is not your average Disney fairy tale. There are cyborgs (part human, part machine), a deadly virus, and a forbidden romance. Here, science fiction meets the Brothers Grimm. In one video below, the author, Marissa Meyer, talks about her book. In the other, you can hear the beginning read to you.

Have I mentioned recently that I love retellings? I’m intrigued by this series. I did feel like it was a little predictable, but that predictability didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the story.
