Book Preview: Life as We Knew It

Life as We Knew It
Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer

Everyone was interested when they found out that an asteroid was going to hit the moon. But the astronomers miscalculated, and the asteroid pushed the moon closer to the Earth, turning tides into tsunamis, and turning dormant volcanoes into ash-spewing lava factories that block out the sun. Life as We Knew It is Miranda’s journal of the year following the asteroid crash into the moon and its after-effects on Earth.

How often do you take everyday things like laundry, or driving, or chocolate for granted? ReadingRants said that the story reminded her of the Diary of Anne Frank (click the link to see her post).
